Collaborative Vlog-
Reflection- For this task, in lesson we looked at our roles as consumers and producers in our daily lives, highlighting how much media we engage in from day to day even though we are amateur media practitioners. We then looked at professional vloggers and how they broadcast themselves to their audiences. We looked at the many different types of vlogging genres and styles. I myself do follow vloggers which come under different genres such as lifestyle and tips (TheTimTracker), fashion (SummerMckeen) and Cosmetics (KathleenLights) , who all have very distinctive styles of presenting their blogs when it comes to editing.
Evaluation-
I found this task very hard even though I collaborated with Will and Mollie to produce a vlog. It took us a long time to think of ideas, many vloggers take years to establish a style that works for them and their audience. In the end we decided to answer the questions set with a ‘Draw your life’ theme, which was popular for vloggers at one time. Although this set some boundaries for our video such as the ability to film from a birds eye view and edit the audio to match the visuals of us answering the questions via drawing. I like the notion of us filming an old media with a new media. If I were to do this task again i would have produced a more conventional style of blog such as a ‘day in the life’ style, while answering the questions more casually and this would have allowed me to use more of my editing skills on Premiere Pro.
